Week 23 of the ongoing 2022/23 Ghana Premier League season has already commenced.
The first of the nine scheduled games was played on Friday, March 24, when Kotoku Royals beat King Faisal 4-2 to increase hopes of surviving relegation at the end of the season.
On Saturday, two matches will be played in Week 23.
One of the games to be played will be the encounter between Karela United and Hearts of Oak.

Karela United are struggling in the Ghana Premier League this season although the team has managed to stay above the relegation zone.
The team has 26 points from 22 games this season. In the last five matches, the side based in Anyinase has suffered three defeats, won one match, and drawn the other game.
Now just one place above the relegation zone and with a paltry 1-point difference, Karela United cannot afford to continue losing games if the side aims to remain in the Ghanaian top-flight league.
For the opponent, Hearts of Oak, the team is not doing badly and even has the chance to fight to win the league title.
Currently, 4th on the league table, the Phobians have 35 points from 22 games this season.
With two wins, two defeats, and one draw in the last five games, the capital-based club is just four points behind the team on top of the league table.

While the difference between Hearts of Oak and Karela United is vast on the Ghana Premier League table, it certainly does not mean it will be a walk in the park for the Phobians on Saturday.
