Ghanaian giants, Hearts of Oak are back in the race for the Ghana Premier League title following a crucial home win against Accra Lions.
The Phobians have been on a roller coaster run that has affected their chances of finishing the ongoing 2022/23 campaign as champions.
Today at the Accra Sports Stadium, Hearts of Oak hosted capital rivals Accra Lions in a Week 24 encounter of the league campaign.
In a game that would be closely contested by both teams, neither side could find the back of the net in the first half despite the numerous chances created.
After recess, both Hearts of Oak and Accra Lions gave it their all in a bid to score to win the game.
Unfortunately, for the visitors and fortunately for the home side, a strike from Linda Mtange handed Hearts of Oak a narrow 1-0 victory at the end of the 90 minutes.
The win has seen the Phobians moving to third on the Ghana Premier League standings and just three points behind Aduana Stars, the team at the top of the log.
