2022 FIFA World Cup: Brazil and Nicaragua friendly games have helped Otto Addo on his player selection – John Paintsil

Ghanaian tactician, John Paintsil is backing Black Stars head coach Otto Addo to select the right players for the 2022 FIFA World Cup tournament in Qatar.

He argues that having played friendly matches against Brazil and Nicaragua in September, it will be easier for the Ghana coach to decide on which players to take to the world cup.

Speaking to BBC Sports Africa, John Paintsil also stressed that Ghana can be hopeful going into the tournament because of the quality of the current squad.

"The quality individual players we have, a coach who is going to blend them, and what the players [did] during the qualification against Nigeria give us hope,” John Paintsil shared.

At the 2022 FIFA World Cup, Ghana will be one of five African countries to feature against the rest of the qualified national teams across the globe.

The Black Stars are in Group H and will face off with Portugal, Uruguay, and South Korea.

Before the start of the tournament through, Ghana will face Switzerland in a final friendly match on November 17.
