The new Ghana Premier League season will officially start this weekend with several top matches to be played by the participating clubs.
The first of nine games to be played this weekend is the encounter between Hearts of Oak and Real Tamale United (RTU).
The game is scheduled to be played on Friday, September 15.

Real Tamale United will play this fixture as the home side. The team had a roller-coaster campaign in the Ghana Premier League last season.
At the end of the difficult campaign, the Tamale-based club only finished 11th in the league standings and escaped relegation by four points.
Having taken lessons from the poor campaign, Real Tamale United have prepared well for the new season and hoping to do better.
The away side, Hearts of Oak had a season to forget during the 2022/23 campaign as well.
Following a poor display by the side especially in the second round of the season, the Phobians finished 12 on the league standings.
This did not go down well with fans who are now backing the team to fight for the league title this season to make amends.

Real Tamale United are the favourites going into this clash. The club from Tamale has won three of the last five meetings with Hearts of Oak.
The Phobians have only managed to win one with the other game ending in a goalless draw.
Predicted scoreline:
Although RTU boasts of a better record ahead of Friday’s clash, Hearts of Oak will not come easy.
The team from Accra has seen a lot of changes including the appointment of a new head coach and a technical director.
With RTU also losing some top players in the off-season, this could be a game in which Hearts of Oak would pick all three points.
