Heart of Lions made their home advantage count after defeating Nations FC in matchday 27 of the Ghana Premier League on Sunday, April 21, 2024.

Lions delivered an outstanding performance to secure an emphatic victory over high-flying Nations FC.

The host showed resilience as they walloped the Abrankese-based club 3-0 at the Kpando Stadium to bounce back to winning ways after suffering defeat in their last game against Aduana Stars.

The home team wasted no time to open the scoring in the much-anticipated encounter, with Mohaison Mahmoud firing home the opening goal after just ten minutes into the game.

Coach Bashir Hayford’s side went to the halftime break with the advantage in the thrilling clash.

Lions scored two more additional goals through to make light work of Nations FC, who are enjoying an amazing Ghana Premier League debut.

In the 65th minute mark, Akwasi Bentil Duah found the back of the net to extend Lions lead in the game before Nana Kwame Oppong cemented the victory in injury time for the host.

Despite the defeat, Nations FC remains second on the Ghana Premier League table with 44 points after 27 games.

Lions are still in the relegation drop despite snatching victory over Nations FC. They are 17th on the league standings with 28 points.
