2023/24 Ghana Premier League: Week 9 Match Preview – Asante Kotoko vs Dreams FC

Published on: 03 November 2023

In a highly competitive fixture, Ghanaian giants Asante Kotoko and CAF Confederations Cup campaigners Dreams FC will lock horns in the Ghana Premier League matchday 9 fixture on Sunday.

Both teams go into the game on the back of defeats in their last Ghana Premier League. Kotoko suffered a narrow defeat to Nsoatreman FC at the Nana Koramansah Park whiles Dreams FC succumbed to a 2-0 home defeat to Berekum Chelsea.

It promises to be a thrilling encounter at the Baba Yara Stadium, as both teams will be yearning for maximum points in order to return to winning ways.

The Porcupine Warriors has not won a game since October 13, when they defeated Aduana Stars and will be hoping to bounce back to winnings against the Still Believe lads.

Kotoko, who have managed two wins, two draws and one defeat in their last five games, come up against Dreams FC who have also been in dismal form in their last five games. The CAF Confederations Cup campaigners have managed just a win in their last five games, losing three and drawing one in the process.

Knowing what’s at stake, both coaches (Prosper Narteh and Karim Zito) must come up with a strategy that can yield positive results for them.

In terms of head to head, the Ghanaian giants are ahead of the reigning FA Cup winners. Kotoko have picked three wins in their last five meetings with Dreams FC, losing one and drawing one in the process.

Asante Kotoko found themselves on 9th position with 10 points whiles Dreams FC sit 17th position with just 8 points after eight games into the campaign.
