Published on: 16 September 2023

Accra Great Olympics have been held to a goalless draw at the Accra Sports Stadium by returning Bofoakwa Tano FC in match day one of the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League (GPL).

This is the first match in the Ghana Premier League for Sunyani based Bofoakwa Tano after 16 years in the Ghana second tier league, the Division One League.

The first 45 minutes of the game failed to produce goals as both teams went back into the dressing room, leaving the game where it started.

The second period was no different as Annor Walker, who returned to the club after a season with Samartex, could not start his second tenure with a win.

The game then ended with both teams sharing a point.

Accra Great Olympics will next play away against Heart of Lions on Saturday, September 23, 2023, in round 2 of the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League.

Meanwhile, the visiting Bofoakwa Tano are set to host their first home match in the Ghana top flight when Real Tamale United visit on the same Saturday in round 2.

The Pride of the North started off their season with a 1-0 win over Hearts of Oak courtesy of a late goal from Eric Owusu's late header in the first game of the season.
