Ghana poster boy Thomas Partey will not be in action for the Black Stars in the first round of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament qualifiers.
The national team of the West African country will in June play the first two matches of the group stage of the qualifiers for next year’s tournament scheduled to be staged in Ivory Coast.
Unfortunately, Coach Otto Addo and his Black Stars must do without unfit Thomas Partey.
The midfield dynamo sustained an injury last month while in action for his Arsenal outfit in the English Premier League defeat to Crystal Palace.
Although there were talks that he could make the games, Thomas Partey is still not there yet and hence will not be part of the Ghana squad for the 2023 AFCON qualifying matches against Madagascar and the Central African Republic.
The games will be played on June 1 and 5 respectively.
Meanwhile, talented winger Kamaldeen Sulemana is returning to the national team after making full recovery from his injury in France.
