2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers: Bechem United striker Hafiz Konkoni report to Black Stars camp ahead of Madagascar game

Bechem United striker, Hafiz Konkoni has reported to Black Stars camp ahead of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers against Madagascar later this month.

The striker was handed a late call-up by the head coach of the senior national team, Chris Hughton on Sunday evening.

The Black Stars officially opened camp today for the matchday five games against Madagascar on June 18.

25 players are now expected to report to camp today in Accra. The team will hold training sessions at the Accra Sports Stadium before they leave on Friday, June 16.

Hafiz Konkoni, who scored 15 goals for Bechem United in the just ended Ghana Premier League campaign will hope to prove his worth when given the opportunity.

Kamaldeen Sulemana, Mohammed Kudus and Ernest Nuamah have all arrived at the camp of the Black Stars.

Inaki Williams and Alexander Djiku have all pulled out from the squad due to injuries.

Ransford-Yeboah Königsdörffer and Kasim Nuhu have been invited to replace the injured duo ahead of the clash.

The rest of the invited players are expected to join the camp later today.

Ghana sit top of Group E with 8 points and will hope to keep the perfect start intact.

The match against the Bareas will be held at Stade Kianja Barea in Antananarivo at 17:00GMT on Sunday, June 18, 2023.
