2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers: Midfielder Edmund Addo returns to Black Stars squad for Angola games

Midfielder Edmund Addo has returned to the Black Stars set up for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations [AFCON] qualifiers against Angola later this month.

The FK Spartak Subotica midfielder has been named in Ghana's 25-man squad for the doubleheader.

Addo, who made his debut against Ethiopia in 2021 has been out of the national team due to injury.

However, the new head coach of the Black Stars, Chris Hughton has named the defensive midfielder in his for the games.

Addo has made a total of five appearances for FK Spartak Subotica in the ongoing Serbian season.

He was part of the final 28-man squad named for the 2021 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Cameroon but missed out on the 2022 World Cup due to injury.

Ghana faces Angola in two games in the upcoming international window with a spot at next’s AFCON up for grabs.

The first leg of the encounter is scheduled for Thursday, March 23 with the second leg coming off four days later.
