In an emotional moment after Ghana's heart-wrenching exit from the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, midfielder Mohammed Kudus found himself grappling for words as he addressed the fans who had stood by the team.

Jordan Ayew scored twice from the penalty spot and Mozambique hit Ghana with two late goals.

In a post-game interview, held in the aftermath of a pulsating 2-2 draw against Mozambique, Mohammed Kudus, the dynamic midfielder from West Ham, was awarded the title of the match's standout performer.

However, this personal accolade offered little comfort as Kudus, visibly moved, expressed gratitude to the loyal supporters who stood by the team during thick and thin.

"I am out of words. I don't know what to say. Thanks to the fans for the support," he said after the game.

Ghana has now failed to go beyond the group stage of the African Cup of Nations for the second time.
