2023 CHAN Qualifier: Nigeria should not think about revenge against Ghana - Black Galaxies coach Annor Walker

Ghana’s Black Galaxies coach Annor Walker has cautioned Nigeria not to think about a revenge against Ghana in the Championship for African Nations (CHAN) qualifiers.

Nigeria has a scores to settle with Ghana after failing to qualify for the World Cup tournament in Qatar.

Ghana edged pass the Super Eagles in an away goal rule during the World Cup play-off in March.

Ahead of the Black Galaxies game against the Super Eagles B, Annor Walker has asked Nigeria not to think about a revenge under his watch.

“The Nigerians should not think about a revenge against Ghana because we eliminated them from the World Cup play-off. If they want to revenge, then it not under my watch” he said.

Meanwhile, the former Great Olympics coach has called for fair officiating ahead of the Nigeria tie on Sunday.

“We didn’t get a fair officiating against Benin but we were able to progress. I believe Ghana will defeat Nigeria if fair officiating prevails this time around

The Black Galaxies have failed to qualify in the last three editions and are hoping to make it to the competition to be staged in Algeria next year.

Ghana will play host to Nigeria in the first leg at the Cape Coast stadium on August 28 before the return fixture on September 3 at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja.

The next edition of the CHAN tournament is slated for Sunday, January 8 to Tuesday, January 31, 2023.
