Ghana's U23 national team, the Black Meteors, engaged in exercises at the beach on day one of their Egypt pre-tournament tour in Cairo, Egypt, ahead of the 2023 U23 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

The team was seen in pictures at the beach posing for photographs after their training session.

The Black Meteors departed Accra on Monday afternoon and arrived in Cairo the same day to kick-start intense preparations for the tournament.

Tuesday's exercise was just the first day of a two-week camp in Egypt to familiarize themselves with the North African weather ahead of the Olympic qualifying tournament to be hosted in Morocco.

After the training camp, the Black Meteors will travel to the host country from their training base.

The team is currently without Black Stars forwards, Kamaldeen Sulemana and Ransford-Yeboah Konigsdorffer, who will join the Black Meteors at a later date.

The duo has also been named in Chris Hughton’s squad, which is set to play against Madagascar in round five of the 2023 AFCON qualifiers on June 18, 2023.

The Black Meteors will face their Egyptian counterparts in a pre-tournament friendly on June 15 and will play another opponent on June 19 before leaving Cairo for Morocco.
