2026 World Cup qualifiers: Baba Iddrisu returns to Ghana’s squad for Madagascar, Comoros games

Almeria midfielder Baba Iddrisu has made a return to the Black Stars squad for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Madagascar and Comoros.

The 27-year-old is expected to provide cover for the injured Thomas Partey who will miss the two important matches.

The on loan Mallorca man has made 12 appearances for Almeria in LaLiga this season, 8 as a starter.

He was not included in the squad that lost to the United States of America and Mexico in the October international break friendlies.

Head coach Chris Hughton announced the squad on Thursday afternoon amid the uncertainty over his future.

The four-time African champions will host Madagascar at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Friday, November 17, 2023, in the first Group I game of the Mexico, Canada, and ISA tournament to be hosted in 2026.

Four days later, Ghana will play as guests to Comoros in the second group match as they hope to get some good results after the disappointing defeats last month.
