21 Black Stars players en rout to Cape Coast

21 players has reported to Black Stars camp ahead of their 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON)  qualifiers against South Africa in Cape Coast on thursday have been rocked by injuries.

Kwesi Appiah's team has been marred with injuries forcing some key players to withdraw leaving 21 players out of the 23 invited for the games against South Africa and Sao Tome Principe.

Harrison Afful was the first to step out followed by Mubarak Wakaso who broke his hand, debutants Mohammed Salisu and Christopher Antwi-Adjei also withdrew from the squad. Salisu is due to injury while Antwi-Adjei, born in Germany, is yet to receive Ghanaian passport.

Kwesi Appiah, has, however, managed to replace Harrison Afful and Mubarak Wakaso in the squad with Hearts of Oak's Fatawu Mohammed and Gideon Mensah respectively.

The 21 players travelling to Cape coast are;

Three goalkeepers, Richard Ofori, Felix Annan, Razak Abalora.

Defenders, Andy Yiadom, Lumor Agbenyenu, Joseph Aidoo, Kassim Nuhu, Nicholas Opoku, Gideon Mensah and Fataw Mohammed.

Midfielders: Patrick Twumasi , Samuel Owusu, Thomas Partey, Alfred Duncan, Iddrisu Baba.

FORWARD: Andre Ayew, Mohammed Kudus, Emmanuel Boateng, Jordan Ayew, Torric Jibril, Shafiu Mumuni.

Ghana will kick start their qualifying campaign against South Africa on Thursday before travelling to face Sao Tome and Principe.
