Aduana Stars is considering filing a complaint at the Ghana Football Association against Asante Kotoko coach Seydou Zerbo over match-fixing claims, the club’s communications director Evans Oppong has disclosed.
The 59-year-old claimed in a sensational diatribe on Sunday that the Fire Club have been manipulating results at home after they crashed out of the FA Cup.
Kotoko crashed out of the FA Cup after losing 1-0 at Aduana Stars, thanks to a 60th penalty converted by Sam Adams.
The defeat spiraled the gaffer into motion, making serious match-fixing allegations against the home team.
In an interview with Koforidua-based Bryt FM, Evans Oppong reveals the club is inching towards dragging the Burkinabe trainer to the Ethics Committee of the Ghana FA over claims Aduana Stars have been fixing matches at home.
“We have referred the issue to our legal team and it is very likely that, we will petition the Ghana FA Ethics Committee to invite Zerbo to provide evidence to his allegation. He is heading toward sack and doesn’t know what to say, he has failed to live up to expectation since taking over Kotoko. He’s being paid in dollars but underperforming; he cannot use us to cover his poor performance. He should accept he does not a better team than us” he said.
Kotoko have struggled in the Premier League since the Burkinabe gaffer took over the club.
Meanwhile, on Wednesday, the Porcupine Warriors inflicted a 1-0 win over Bechem United to go second on the league log.
