The English Premier League has seen a lot of African talents arrive and made significant impact there. The likes of Didier Drogba still comes to the mind of fans for his exceptional service for Chelsea before retirement. These are however some of the stars who are still playing football.

Michael Essien

Michael Essien is no doubt a legend for Chelsea and the Premier League. He also managed to win the champions league with the club in 2012.

The former Black Stars midfielder is still going strong at 37 years of age and previously played for Panathinaikos and Indonesian side Persib Banding.

He is currently an undisputed starter for Azerbaijani side Sabail, who were only formed four years ago.

Eric Djemba-Djemba

The Cameroon midfielder managed a total of 31 Premier League matches for Man United and Aston Villa from 2003-2007 before making the move to Burnley on loan.

Djemba-Djemba, now 39, is currently playing for Swiss side Vallorbe-Ballaigues, who play in the fifth division. He played for nine different clubs between leaving Burnley and featuring for Vallorbe.

Salomon Kalou

The former Chelsea forward joined Hertha Berlin in 2014 and he has made over 150 appearances for the German side. Kalou also won the champions league with the Blues before leaving.

Kalou has netted more than 50 goals for Hertha but played only seven times this season.

Former manager Jurgen Klinsmann banished him from the first-team earlier this season but they have seen a change in management and Kalou may fare better under his new boss Alexander Nouri when football resumes.
