Trent Alexander-Arnold is the first Liverpool player to register an assist in five consecutive Premier League games on Friday night against Norwich.

Alexander-Arnold assisted for the fifth consecutive PL game against Norwich on Friday, the right-back whipped in a beautiful corner which found  Virgil Van Dijk's head to make it 3-0 for Liverpool against Norwich during their league opener.

He is the first player in the English top-flight to do so since Mesut Ozil in 2015, Ozil and Alexander-Arnold are two of just eight players to achieve that feat, including Darren Anderton, Ryan Giggs, Gianfranco Zola, Theirry Henry, Antonio Valencia and Cesc Fabregas

The England international was asked by Gary Neville after the game how he is looking to improve this season after providing more assists (12) than any other Liverpool player during 2018/19.

" I think, obviously, keep the same output, create as many chances as I can for the team,”

“The way that we play with full-backs in this team is getting up and defending as well.

“No matter what, you can always improve. Obviously, we want to keep more clean sheets than we did last season. We kept a lot but I think we can still get better.”

Liverpool the champions league winners take on Europa League holders Chelsea in the European Super Cup on Wednesday evening.
