Ampem Darkoa Ladies FC visits President Akufo Addo ahead of their Champions League campaign

In a gesture of support, President Akufo Addo welcomed the formidable Ampem Darkoa Ladies FC to the seat of power, extending a generous financial boost of Ghc 500,000 as they embark on their Champions League journey.

The nation's leader, visibly enthused, urged the squad to clinch the coveted trophy and bring it home, underscoring the immense pride the team has stirred in the hearts of Ghanaians.

Against the backdrop of their extraordinary successes last season, the management and players proudly presented their hard-earned trophies to the highest office in the land, symbolizing the unwavering spirit and excellence that defines Ampem Darkoa Ladies FC.

Ampem Darkoa took to their official social media platforms to thank the President:

"We had the rare privilege of visiting the First Gentleman of the Land @NAkufoAddo yesterday. Our father shared in our successes, blessed our champions league campaign with GHc 500,000, charged us to bring the trophy home. Thank you, Mr. President"

Ghana’s representative in the 2023 CAF Women’s Champions League competition, Ampem Darkoa Ladies have been drawn in Group B and will face off with Moroccan powerhouse AS FAR, as well as AS Mande and Huracanes from Mali and Equatorial Guinea respectively.

The 2023 CAF Women's Champions League will be the 3rd edition of the annual African women's association football club tournament organized by the Confederation of African Football.

The winners of this edition will automatically qualify for the following edition of the tournament.

The whole of Ghana will be behind Ampem Darkoa Ladies to make the country proud in the competition.
