Asante Kotoko's angry supporters booed their own players at the Baba Yara Stadium in a humiliating display after they were eliminated from the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Champions League.
The players, management, and technical staff spent longer than normal in the changing room before leaving to board the team bus since they were aware of the hostile environment outside.
When they appeared, the crowd reacted in an uncontrolled way, yelling loudly at the players despite their unconditional support throughout the encounter.
Some irate supporters insulted the players and management for allowing Asante Kotoko to lose in front of such a large audience against a relative unknown in African football.
Asante Kotoko won 1-0 away and was beaten at home by Kadiogo. This led to a penalty shootout and the Porcupine Warriors failed to convert most of their kicks.
