Black Stars striker Antoine Semenyo will not feature in the four nation tournament which will be held in Japan.

The Kirin Cup, which will be held for the first time since 2016, will take place in a four-country knockout format. Japan will play Ghana in their first match on 10 June, with Chile and Tunisia playing in the other match.

The winners will play each other in the final and the losers in the third-place match on 14 June.

Reports stating that the Bristol City attacker withdrew from the tournament due to an urgent transfer move to a club are not true. The attacker currently has a shin injury and his withdrawal is just a precaution.

Semenyo made his Ghana debut on Wednesday, coming on as a 76th-minute substitute in the 3-0 victory over Madagascar at the Cape Coast Stadium.
