Arsenal and Liverpool Battling for Signature of Fulham Starlet Ryan Sessegnon

Arsenal and Liverpool look set to battle it out to secure the signature of Fulham youngster Ryan Sessegnon, with theDaily Star reporting that the highly-rated prospect is on the radar of both Premier League clubs.


And the 16-year-old, who has been compared to Real Madrid superstar Gareth Bale, was watched by scouts from the two sides during Fulham's EFL Cup win over Leyton Orient on Tuesday evening.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is believed to have tried to sign Sessegnon in January's transfer window, but was rebuffed in his advances by the Championship side.


The Frenchman, however, has been undeterred in his attempts to prise the England Under-16 captain from Arsenal's London counterparts.


Liverpool, meanwhile, are still on the hunt for left-back competition for current first choice Alberto Moreno.

Manager Jurgen Klopp has seen potential moves for Leicester City's Ben Chilwell and PSG's Lucas Digne fail to materialise.


Chiwell, 19, ended up signing a new contract with the Premier League champions, while Digne moved to Barcelona in a £16.7m deal.


Sessegnon impressed during the Cottager's 3-2 victory over Orient at Brisbane Road.

And Fulham manager Slavisa Jokanovic said he had been left excited by the quartet of Fulham youngsters on show against the O's.
