Arsenal Contract Rebel Alexis Sanchez Reveals What He Doesn't Like About Living in London

Published on: 20 December 2016

Arsenal's Alexis Sanchez has done little to ease fears about his potential departure from the Emirates, after telling the club's official magazine that he finds living in London "stressful".

The Chilean is currently at loggerheads with the club over signing a contract extension, with the main sticking point appearing to be the player's wage demands. Some reports suggest that Sanchez is hopeful of earning £300k per week although the Gunner's hierarchy are unlikely to meet those demands due to the club's strict wage structure.

But whilst the contract saga rumbles on, the striker doesn't exactly appear to be enamoured with life at the London based club, after he admitted he found living in the capital stressful and conceded that it was difficult to relax outside of his house.

Sanchez told the Arsenal magazine (as quoted by theStar):"I do explore the city if I have the time for it but normally I would rather stay relaxed at home.

"London can be a stressful place because it's crowded and it's a big city.

"Our routines as footballers can be energy-consuming too.You play one game after another, meet new people every day and travel a lot. That is why I try to disconnect and relax as soon as I get some time off."

"I like to go to London to eat something or have a drink with my friends. However, I am a very home-loving person and I spend a lot of time at home."

With just 18 months left on his current deal, Sanchez's future at Arsenal remains in doubt as the two parties continue to find differences over a new deal. His latest comments will have done little to calm worried supporters, as it would appear thathe wouldn't be upset to leave London behind, should he seal a move away from the Emirates in the near future.
