Asamoah Gyan returns to Al Ahli starting XI

Black Stars skipper Asamoah Gyan has been restored to the Al Ahli Dubai first team and lasted 82 minutes in their 2-0 win over Bani Yas on Thursday in the Arabian Gulf League.

In what is a timely boost for Black Stars coach Avram Grant, it appears the 31-year-old has regained full fitness in time for Ghana's AFCON 2017 campaign come January in Gabon.

He will have to find his scoring boots quickly however, after fluffing a couple of chances during the game.

Gyan has been plagues by niggling injuries in 2016 and doubts still remain over his physical fitness.

He hit a rich vein of form following his switch from Shanghai SIPG to Ahli - netting six goals before is injury troubles.

Gyan is expected in the country this weekend for the Black Stars preparation ahead of the AFCON 2017.
