Asante Kotoko approach former Bechem United and Great Olympics coach Bismark Kobi Mensah over coaching role

Former Bechem united and Great Olympics coach Bismark Kobi Mensah has emerged as a candidate for the Asante Kotoko coaching role.

The Porcupine Warriors has been dismal in the domestic top-flight and are currently ranked 11th in the standings with 33 points.

Ogum has faced pressure in the latter half of the season, with the club managing only one league victory in 2024.

The Porcupine warriors has suffered six defeats in their last seven games in the Ghanaian top-flight, picking just a point across the period.

Fans on Tuesday descended on the club's training ground to disrupt proceedings, demanding the dismissal of the former WAFA boss.

Per reports, the Interim Management Committee (IMC) of Kotoko have resolved to sack Ogum if things doesn’t change.

However, the IMC are reported to have contacted Kobi Mensah as a potential replacement for Ogum.

Meanwhile, the Life Patron of the Ghanaian giants, His Royal Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has called for an emergency meeting amid struggles of the club.

Otumfuo will hold a crunch meeting on Thursday, April 19, 2024 with the playing body and Interim Management Committee to address the recent happenings in the team.
