Asante Kotoko beat Rainbow Stars in mid-season to continue impressive form

Asante Kotoko continued their fine form ahead of the second round of the season as they defeated Rainbow Stars 3-1 in a friendly on Saturday at the Adako Jachie training Complex.

The Porcupine Warriors scored two goals before the half-hour mark through Patrick Asmah and Augustine Okrah on the 14th and 18th minute respectively.

Asante Kotoko started the second half of the game with a new crop of players which saw the introduction of Sarfo Taylor and Andy Francis Kumi who joined the club recently.

New striker Andy Francis Kumi extended the lead for the Reds with a cool finish from a close range on the 65th minute of the game.

The game was witnessed by the newly-appointed appointed head coach of the Ghanaian giants, Mariano Barreto and his assistant Bruno Miguel.

The Porcupine Warriors will be hosted by Eleven Wonders at the Nana Ameyaw Park in the matchday 18 games.
