Asante Kotoko board chair not aware club has an account at Access Bank - Report

Asante Kotoko board chairman, Dr. Kwame Kyei, is not aware the Ghana Premier League giants have an account with partners, Access Bank.

According to Kumasi based Pure FM, Dr. Kwame Kyei and his deputy are not signatories to the account, but the Chief Executive Office (CEO) of the club, Nana Yaw Amponsah, and a chief account are the signatories to the account.

The record Ghana Premier League winners signed a partnership agreement with the Nigeria originated bank in March 2022.

Under the partnership, Access Bank will support the Asante Kotoko Census project – aimed at mobilising data on the claimed over-5million Club supporters worldwide with new and existing data gathered from the Club’s records to establish a support base.

It is the Access Bank account that holds proceeds from the club’s virtual seat challenge every match day.

It is alleged that there is some sort of friction between Asante Kotoko Chief Executive Officer  Nana Yaw Amponsah and the board chairman Dr. Kwame Kyei.
