Asante Kotoko fans rejoice as team breaks winless streak with victory over Samartex

Asante Kotoko fans were filled with joy and excitement following their team's 1-0 victory over league leaders Samartex, a win that ended their seven-game winless streak.

The fans, who spoke to the media after the match, expressed their delight and encouraged the players to maintain the momentum till the end of the season.

Midfielder Enock Morrison was the star of the day, scoring the only goal of the game from the penalty spot in the second half. The goal was a much-needed relief for Kotoko, who had been struggling to find the back of the net in recent games.

The match against Samartex was always going to be a tough test for Kotoko, given their recent form. However, a meeting with the club owner, Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, earlier in the week seemed to have provided the necessary motivation for the team. The players put up a spirited performance, eventually breaking through Samartex's resilient defence thanks to Morrison's spot-kick.

One fan, expressing his satisfaction with the team's performance, said, "We want to play our games, get our three points, and go home. We don't want any more excuses or other teams beating us. Today, we thank God for opening the sky for us to get our three points. It's good, and we want it to continue like this."

Another fan, highlighting the team's effort, said, "Some of the boys have really played their hearts out today."

The Porcupine Warriors will take on reigning champions Medeama on match week 28.
