Asante Kotoko is a complex institution - George Amoako

Former Asante Kotoko Chief Executive Officer (CEO), George Amoako says managing the Porcupine Warriors is a tedious job.

His comment comes following the expiration of Nana Yaw Amponsah's mandate, the same as the 12-member board of directors.

Nana Yaw Amponsah, the erstwhile Chief Executive Officer instituted several policies that made the Club self-sufficient and became the go-to media hub for Ghana Football.

“Asante Kotoko is not a simple institution, it is not easy at all to lead the club. They get fed up with you after two years and everything you do, they will see it with negative eyes," the Executive Committee member of the Ghana Football Association told Kumasi-based Oyerepa FM.

"We need to sit down and look at the issues carefully. With how things are done with the Adhoc approach, it will be difficult.

"It is not easy running Kotoko, you must be a Kotoko supporter and understand the culture of the club, it is not about being rich, most of the time the club has flourished, the club was not run by rich men," he added.

Asante Kotoko ended the 2022/23 football season trophyless.
