Ghanaian giants Asante Kotoko have reached agreement with Karela United midfielder Umar Bashiru ahead of a proposed move to the club in the ongoing transfer window.

The enterprising midfielder who enjoyed an amazing campaign with Karela United in the 2021/22 season is reported to have agreed to re-join Kotoko on a two-year deal.

The Porcupine Warriors will in the coming days announce the signing of the diminutive midfielder.

Umar Bashiru is making a return to Kotoko after an unsuccessful spell in the 2018/2019 season having joined the club from WAFA in 2018.

The 25-year-old contract was terminated after being deemed surplus to requirement by the club.

Since joining Karela United in 2020, the midfielder has established himself as a key cog to the club.

Last season, he had a decent campaign, scoring 14 goals and providing 4 assists in 31 matches.
