Asante Kotoko have received injury boost as Ismail Abdul Ganiu is set to return to training after several months on the sidelines for the new season.

Ganiu has been sidelined for the last six months due to a ligament tear, however, he is expected to resume training next week as the Porcupine Warriors continue preparations for the 2019/20 Ghana Premier League season.

He picked up the injury during the club’s 2018/19 CAF Confederation Cup and was set for a trip to Germany for surgery.

Special treatment from experts here in Ghana saw Ganiu’s injury successfully treated and is now set to join his team mates before Christmas.

The highly-rated defender will be joining his teammates for full scale training once he is given a medical green light from the club’s medical department.

His return is a massive boost for Kotoko ahead of the upcoming season which is scheduled to kick off on December 27-29.
