Asante Kotoko to be without Danlad and Agyapong vs Samartex because of U-23 AFCON qualifiers

Asante Kotoko will be missing two key players, Ibrahim Danland and Augustine Agyapong, in their upcoming game against Samartex in the 2022/23 Ghana Premier League week 22.

Danland, who plays as a goalkeeper, and Agyapong, who plays as a right back, will be unavailable due to their call-up to the Ghana U-23 national team, also known as the Black Meteors.

The Black Meteors are preparing for their 2023 U-23 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying games against Algeria.

The first leg of the final round of qualifiers will take place in Algeria on March 24, while the second leg will be played in Ghana four days later.

Danland and Agyapong's absence from Asante Kotoko will be a significant blow to the team, who currently sit in fifth position, eight points behind league leaders Aduana FC.

Both players were also part of Ghana's squad that participated in the 2022 Africa Nations Championship in Algeria, where the team was knocked out in the quarterfinals.
