Asante Kotoko will win the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League - Goalkeeper Fredrick Asare

Published on: 16 August 2023

Asante Kotoko goalkeeper, Fredrick Asare, has made a bold promise to the club's passionate fans, assuring them of clinching the Ghana Premier League title in the 2023/24 season.

Asare's resolute declaration comes shortly after just over a week of intensive pre-season training at the club's camp in Beposo.

The 24-year-old shot-stopper made an impactful debut for the Porcupine Warriors last season, earning plaudits for his good performances.

However, despite his success, the club fell short of achieving its set targets, including defending the league title and securing victory in the FA Cup.

The previous campaign proved to be a challenging one for Asante Kotoko, both on and off the field. But with the club now charting a fresh course under a newly constituted Interim Management Committee (IMC), Fred Asare is filled with optimism about what lies ahead.

“With the one week that we’ve had, I think that if this work continues for a very long time, I think we will win the league. If we will win the league it will mostly depend on the supporters. Because last year there was a little bit of low attendance because of our performances.

“But this year I can assure them that with this new direction, we are going to win the league so they should come in their numbers. And also, I am promising them with the goalkeeping department we are promising them so many clean sheets this year,” he concluded.
