Chief Executive Officer of AshantiGold, Emmanuel Frimpong has revealed why coach Romain Folz run away.

Coach Folz has left the club after only a month in charge. The 30-year-old was seen leaving the shores of the country on Monday without the club’s consent.

According the club's CEO, Frimpong, the club did not interfere in the manager’s line of duty as claimed by reports.

"The only thing which will make him do that is maybe we paging him on the decision he took which he wasn’t supposed to take that decision," he told Kessben FM.

"For me, if am to take that decision I will consult Dr. Kwaku Frimpong being the president before I take that decision. But anything that had to do with technical aspects he is in charge so nobody interferes in whatever he does with the technical team.

"I feel like whatever he did and we paging him made him left. I don’t know but just assuming and that’s what happened.

Coach Folz played just five matches during the short period where he won twice, drew twice and lost once.

Assistant coach, Thomas Duah will take charge of the club on an interim basis until a new head coach is appointed.
