Atletico Madrid coach Simeone on Man Utd shortlist amid PSG Mourinho pressure

Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone is being discussed inside the Manchester United boardroom.

With Jose Mourinho on the shortlist of PSG once coach Unai Emery is removed, it's been suggested United have a contingency plan in the event they lose their manager.

Okdiario pundit Eduardo Inda says United have identified Simeone as the man to succeed Mourinho - and believe he would be open to the prospect with the feeling being he has taken Atletico as far as he can.

Inda said on El Chiringuito: "PSG will make Mourinho an offer which would put him on the same level as (Cristiano) Ronaldo (€21m-a-year)."

Should Mourinho quit United, the English giants would offer Simeone a massive contract to quit Atletico and also full control of transfer policy.

However, despite speculation over Mourinho's contract, there is confidence in England that he is happy at Old Trafford.
