Atletico Madrid striker Antoine Griezmann has told compatriot Paul Pogba that he can see himself as a Manchester United player in the future, according toDon Balon.

The French forward is believed to be United's number one target for a summer transfer, and has been regularly linked with the club in recent weeks.

Griezmann is likely to cost United around £85m, although manager Jose Mourinho is unlikely to be put off by Atletico's demands.

He and Pogba are close friends off the pitch, and Griezmann has reportedly hinted that he is open to a summer move to Old Trafford.

With United striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic yet to confirm whether he will stay at the club next season, it could be that Griezmann will be brought in as a direct, long-term replacement for the enigmatic Swede.

The 25-year-old has scored 17 goals in all competitions for Atletico this season, with nine in La Liga a slightly less prolifictally than in previous seasons.

He has continued to prove a key player for Los Rojiblancos, however, and remains one of the most in-demand attacking players in Europe's top leagues.

United fans will undoubtedly be hoping that Pogba has managed to sell the appeal of theclub to international teammate Griezmann
