Bayern Munich manager Carlo Ancelotti believes that his side's 1-1 draw with Hertha Berlin was a fair result.

Bayern struggled to break down their hosts for the majority of the match, but found their equaliser five minutes into injury time, with Robert Lewandowski's goal ensuring Bayern left theOlympiastadion Berlin with a point.

Speaking toBayern's official website, Ancelotti admitted his side were anticipating a tough opening period, but credited his side for earning a draw thanks to an improved performance in the second period.

"We knew it would be difficult here," Ancelotti said.

"Hertha played well in the first half, displaying lots of commitment. The second half was different, we upped the pressure then. Our goal was deserved. Ultimately it's a fair result."

The draw gives second place RB Leipzig the opportunity to cut the gap on Bundesliga leaders Bayern to five points when they travel toBorussia Moenchengladbach on Sunday.

Leipzig have dropped off the pace in the title race having lost their last two league matches against Borussia Dortmund and Hamburger SV, with Bayern taking advantage by winning eight of their past 10 Bundesliga matches.

Bayern remain in pole position in the Bundesliga and are also targeting Champions League success after triumphing 5-1 over Arsenal. Their next fixture sees Bayern entertain Hamburger SV next Saturday in the Bundesliga.
