Bechem United chief confident of win over Aduana Stars at Dormaa

Bechem United president, Kingsley Owusu-Achau is confident his side will beat Aduana Stars in their final game of the season on Sunday.

The Hunters will be hosted by the two-time Ghana Premier League champions at the Nana Agyemang Badu I Park at Dormaa.

With the league’s title chasers separated by just three points going into the final round of matches, Sunday’s encounter could determine the league champion.

Bechem United who sit 2nd on the pile could move into pole position and clinch the title with a big win against Aduana in the event that Medeama lose to Tamale City at the Akoon Park in Tarkwa on the final day.

To the Bechem United boss, Aduana have never beaten his side in the last two years and does not see how they could overpower Bechem to deny them their maiden league title with so much at stake.

According to him, even though Dormaa-Ahenkro appeared to be a difficult terrain for other teams, Bechem did not have that problem because they always felt at home playing there.

“Winning at Dormaa is not a big deal for us, last season we won there; in the FA Cup we met at Berekum which is closer to them, and we still won against them and when they came to Bechem last season, we scored them four goals," he told Graphic Sports.

“Aduana FC have never beaten Bechem United since 2020, either at home or away, and Bechem also possess an impressive record of eight wins against six for Aduana in the last 21 encounters between us”.

“When we’re playing Aduana, they are under pressure, and we don’t have anything to lose. As we go to Dormaa and there is not much pressure on the boys; winning against Aduana at Dormaa is not a big deal at all,” he observed.
