Ghana’s Black Meteors defeated Division One League side Uncle T united in a preparatory game on Thursday at the Ghanaman Soccer Center of Excellence in Prampram.

The team has been camping at the base for the past few weeks as they prepare ahead of the U23 AFCON tournament to be staged in Morocco.

Today, the Ghana U23 team inflicted a convincing 3-0 win over the second-tier club.

A brace from Godwin Bentil and Afriyie Barnieh’s strike ensured the Black Meteors cruised to a smooth victory against their opponent.

Ghana opened the scoring in the first through Afriyie Barnieh, who scored from the spot as they went to recess with a one goal advantage.

After the break, Godwin Bentil netted a brace to cement victory for the Black Meteors.

Ghana is billed to play hosts Morocco, Congo and Guinea in Group A. The tournament kicks off on June 23 with Ghana aiming to secure a place in the top three to seal their return to the Olympic Games next year after a 19-year absence.
