Black Princesses coach Yussif Basigi names starting XI for Guinea Bissau clash

The Ghana U20 Women’s national team coach, Yussif Basigi has named his squad for the second leg of the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup qualifiers.

Nicknamed the Black Princesses, the Ghana U20 women’s national team is billed to face off with their counterparts from Guinea Bissau at the Accra Sports Stadium.

In the squad named by Yussif Basigi today, goalkeeper Afi Amenyaku captain's the team, Mary Amponsah starts and Wasiima Mohammed leads the attack.

The first leg against Guinea Bissau took place on Sunday, October 8, 2023.

In the first leg played at the Estadio 24 de Setembro in Bissau, the Black Princesses dominated the game to secure the first-leg win.

The first half ended with Ghana having a narrow lead thanks to an injury-time equaliser from Success Ameyaa.

After recess, the Black Princesses continued to dominate their Guinea-Bissau counterpart and scored two additional goals.

Strikes from Mary Amponsah and Mercy Atobra sealed a delightful 3-0 win for Ghana at the end of the 90 minutes.
