Black Queens intensify training for Benin, Togo friendlies [PHOTOS]

Thirty-four Black Queens have gathered at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram in preparation for the upcoming international friendlies against Benin and Togo.

The team is comprised of four foreign-based players, including Princella Adubea from FC Hiryat in Israel, Evelyn Badu from Avaldsnes FC in Norway, Captain Portia Boakye from Djurgardens IF in Sweden, and Azumah Bugre from IFK Norkoping in Sweden.

The players arrived on Monday and are preparing for the matches.

The rest of the team was carefully selected from the Twenty (20) Women's Premier League clubs in Ghana, and includes Janet Egyir based in Israel, Grace Asantewaa in Spain, Naomi Anima in Jordan, Jaqueline Opoku in Israel, and Safiatu Salifu in Tanzania.

The team has already had two intensive training sessions, including one on Monday evening and one on Tuesday afternoon, with all players taking part.

Coach Nora Häuptle’s side is focused on preparing the team for the upcoming matches against Benin and Togo.

The team is set to depart Accra on Friday for Cotonou, where they will play against Benin on Sunday, February 19. The team will then travel to Togo for their next match on Saturday, February 25, 2023.
