The Black Queens of Ghana have returned home after an exhausting and challenging journey through the 2024 Olympic Games qualifications, touching down in Ghana on Friday morning.

Despite their best efforts, the team faced a heartbreaking defeat in the qualifiers, ending their hopes of advancing to the prestigious tournament.

The squad that arrived in Ghana comprised a mix of players, with the majority having successfully reunited with their respective clubs in Europe.

The remaining players will join their respective clubs in Ghana and on the continent.

The qualifiers saw the Black Queens face off against Zambia in a tense battle. In the first leg held at the Accra Sports Stadium, Zambia managed to secure a narrow 1-0 victory, putting Ghana on the back foot early in the clash.

Despite a courageous effort in the return leg in Ndola, Zambia, the Black Queens were unable to turn the result completely. The match ended in a 3-3 draw, resulting in a 4-3 aggregate score in favor of Zambia. With this outcome, Ghana's dreams of Olympic glory were shattered, leaving the team and their supporters disheartened.
