Black Satellites players, technical team members to receive $10,000 each for winning U-20 AFCON

Each Black Satellites player is taking home a sum of $10,000 for fighting on behalf of Ghana to win the 2021 Total CAF U-20 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.

The Ghana U-20 team at the tournament staged in Mauritania excelled from the Group Stage and went all the way to the finals where they beat the Hippos of Uganda 2-0.

Having been crowned champions of the tournament, the Satellites have arrived in the country as heroes and were at the Jubilee House on Tuesday to present the U-20 AFCON trophy to the President of the Republic, H.E Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

Addressing the delegation, the president revealed that Players and technical staff members of the U-20 AFCON winning team will receive a financial package of $10,000 dollars each.

In addition, President Akufo-Addo made a personal pledge of $5,000 each to goalkeeper Danlad Ibrahim, captain Afriyie Barnieh, overall best player Fatawu Issahaku and Head coach Karim Zito.
