Black Starlets Coach Paa Kwesi Fabin insists India game is a must win

Head Coach of Ghana’s national U-17 team, the Black Starlets, Paa Kwesi Fabin insists the final group game against India is a must win.

Ghana lost her second game to the young Yankees of the United States by a goal to nil, leaving the Black Starlets needing a win to progress.

Having beaten Colombia in the opening game, the team was expected to beat the Americans to advance to the next stage.

Meanwhile, the team will play the host, India on Thursday and a win could see the team through.

Ahead of the crucial encounter, Coach Paa Kwesi Fabin said it has become critical for his side to win and he will ensure the get a positive result.

“We’re going to prepare, come and see whether we can beat India and qualify. It has now become critical for us to win at all cost and get the qualification,” Paa Kwesi Fabin said in a post-match interview after their 1-0 defeat against the USA on Monday.

Ghana could also progress if they emerge as one of the best placed third position teams.

The two times Champions will face the Indians without defender Abdul Razak Yussif who suffered an injury in the game against the United States.

John Otu, who was a regular feature at the Africa Junior Championship is expected to replace the injured defender.
