The Black Stars are set to return to action for the first time since the collapse of the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

At a tournament staged in Qatar, Ghana was pitted in Group H to face the like of Portugal, South Korea, and Uruguay.

The Black Stars managed to beat South Korea 3-2 after losing 3-2 to Portugal. When the team needed a draw to stand a chance of progressing to the knockout stage, a poor display saw the Black Stars lose 2-0 to Uruguay in the final Group H match.

As a result of the two defeats and one win, Ghana exited the 2022 FIFA World Cup at the end of the group stage.

After several months, the Black Stars are set to return to action, this time around in the qualifiers for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.

The Ghana national team in this international break will face off with Angola in a doubleheader encounter of the AFCON qualifiers.

The first of the two matches will be played on Thursday, March 23.

This will be the first assignment of the Black Stars' head coach Chris Hughton.
