Black Stars head coach, Otto Addo, has cited the Black Stars as an example of how diverse cultures and people with different backgrounds can unite.

Ghana has had a long history of people with different backgrounds playing for the team since the 90s, from Anthony Baffoe to Otto Addo and now Alexander Djiku, Inaki Williams and Tariq Lamptey.

All these players were born in countries abroad and naturalized to play for the Black Stars at international level.

Some of them have gone on to become important players for the team and have blended well with the players that were born in Ghana.

Speaking about the importance of the need for these players to adapt quickly, Black Stars head coach Otto Addo urged them to fast track this processes to make things easier.

“It’s crucial that newcomers embrace Ghanaian culture,” Addo told 3Sports. “Our team exemplifies how people from diverse backgrounds can unite as one, transcending religious and tribal differences.”
