Head coach of the Black Stars, Chris Hughton was in attendance when Bechem United played Berekum Chelsea in the penultimate Ghana Premier League game on Sunday.

The game saw Bechem United win 2-0 at the Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park to secure the three maximum points in week 33 of the domestic top-flight.

The technical team of the Black Stars led by Chris Hughton have been touring match centres as they seek to scout top talents for the senior team.

Hughton took over as Black Stars coach February with a doubleheader against Angola in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifications after signing a 21-month contract.

The former Premier League manager did not include a single local player in first call up. Hughton, on the other hand, promised to keep an eye on the local game to inspire his future decisions, which he has done by watching various Ghana Premier League games in recent weeks together with his assistants.

Despite snubbing local players again for the Madagascar game this month, Hughton together with Team Manager of the Black Stars, Ameenu Shadow attended Bechem United tie with Chelsea on Sunday.

The Black Stars will travel to face Madagascar on June 18 in the penultimate AFCON 2023 game.
