Black Stars to play World Cup qualifiers at the Cape Coast stadium

The newly built Cape Coast stadium in the Central Region of Ghana is expected to host all 2018 World Cup qualifiers home games of the Black Stars.

According to media reports, Sports Minsiter Nii Lantey Vanderpauye wants all the qualifiers to be staged at the 16,400 capacity facility.

Those reports continue to state that Nii Lantey has written to the Ghana Football Association to consider playing the matches in Cape Coast looking at the current poor nature of the Accra Stadium pitch.

The Black Stars will begin their World Cup qualifiers with a game at home against Uganda next month.

Ghana is chasing a fourth successive World Cup berth having appeared in the last three editions of the mundial.
