Black Stars striker Majeed Waris suffers injury as Strasbourg lose to PSG

Black Stars striker Majeed Waris missed Strasbourg humiliating 4-0 defeat to PSG in the Ligue 1 on Wednesday due to injury.

The 28-year-old sustained an injury in training on Monday and could not pass a late fitness test ahead of the game.

Waris could not make the trip to the French capital for the game alongside, Bingourou Kamara, Lamine Koné and Lebo Mothiba.

Defender Pembele, 18, opened the scoring, sweeping up a rebound from Angel Di Maria's shot to poke home.

A Kylian Mbappe tap-in, a screamer from ex-Everton midfielder Idrissa Gueye and an instinctive finish Toffees loanee Moise Kean secured the points and condemned Strasbourg to their 11th defeat of the season.

The Racers currently lie just above the drop zone with 14 points after 17 games played thus far.

Majeed Waris has made 10 appearances for Strasbourg in the 2020/21 season and is yet to score his first goal for the club.
