Black Stars technical team to assess team with Switzerland friendly before 2022 World Cup

The technical team of the Ghana national team will use a friendly match against Switzerland to assess the Black Stars squad before proceeding to play at the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

In a press release on Wednesday, July 27, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) confirmed that a friendly match with the European country has been scheduled to be played in November.

“The Black Stars of Ghana will for the first time in history play against Switzerland in an international friendly before their opening match at the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 tournament.

“The game will take place on Thursday, November 17, 2022, at the Baniyas Club Atadium in Abu Dhabi-United Arab Emirates.

“The international friendly match against the Swiss national team will complete the calendar of the Black Stars, going into the FIFA World Cup Qatar, 2022 tournament,” a statement from the GFA reads.

The technical team of the Black Stars led by head coach Otto Addo will use the high-profile friendly to assess the readiness of the team for the tournament in Qatar.

At the 2022 FIFA World Cup, the Black Stars will face off with Uruguay, Portugal, and South Korea.
